Blog 6

My critical question for this course is “How has weather changed society?”  A new sub topic I would like to address is climate change.  I will be having two different genres that will still be aimed towards one audience.  My audience will be Liberals of the Lincoln community who keep up to date with weather forecasts.  I do think my audience does seem a little broad but in order to affectively include my critical question in this project I will need to address a bigger population.  One of my genres will be a satirical weather forecast aimed to the hot and humid days and the recent flood like rains we been having.  Another one of my pieces will almost like a infomercial that will be addressed towards how polluting our atmosphere will change the weather around the Lincoln area.  For my satirical weather forecast some modes I see myself using include text, and image.  For my video I will be making I will include text, music, image, and dialogue.  As a model text I will most likely find a written weather forecast and an infomercial on cleaning up a community or atmosphere.

  1. Max, this sounds like a great idea! I think your audience is specific enough. What, though, do you want to accomplish with your two texts? What do you want your audience to do, think, or feel differently after seeing your texts? Also, especially for the satirical forecast, what would you imagine as the means of disseminating it?Is it something people would find in the journal star or the kind of thing that would get passed around online (like on twitter or facebook)? Or something else?
